Default Problem with BMW nav4 (zumo660)

I greet all members of the forum and step right to the problem,

I have a garmin as the title and during an upgrade with garmin express, I could not get it to work.
At the current state of affairs works only partially with the sd inserted,
without the sd only lights alternating with the splash screen with logo and a screen with logo + type of device and continues forever.
With the microsd it start in English language and if there is a map it recognizes , in the pc does not appear in the disk drives,
the only way to show it to my PC is to put it in the "pre- boot" and at the same time run a program updater.exe, so the nav shows " loader loading .. " and in the PC ( with Windows 8 ) in the page management computer icon appears on the Garmin device- > Garmin USB GPS, but nothing in the disc drives units . If disconnected from the PC in this situation, without turning it off , I can connect to an'other computers without the nav lose their status and I see the same thing.
Because I saw that the sd card reads well , is there some command " format " the garmin from sd ?
Thanks to everyone who can give me some help .

    1) Bricked device MODEL Zumo660, Firmware version 4,9, HWID 0924.

    2) Why and how the device got bricked : during an upgrade.

    3) Symptoms: Without microSD device not start Display lights alternating with the splash screen with logo and a screen with logo + type of device and continues forever. With microSD (also empty)it starts in English and the menus work almost all

    4) Does your pc sees your device ?: no PC not see the device in win explorer, but if it's in pre-boot mode, in computer management page I see "Garmin Device".

    5) List all the procedures you already tried to unbrick it: recall the firmware

    6) Do you have Garmin USB Drivers installed ? : Yes

    7) If you don't know HWID get it by Use program G7ToWin to retrieve your HWID: HWID is 0924

    8) Write down if you already read or tried GarminCure3 tool - the new way to create cure firmwares for Garmin devices : not possible because the drive not visible.

    9) Can you reach preboot mode? If no ,have you followed this? Garmin Updater.exe v.2.8.0 : Yes I can

    10) Probably no , but do you have NV backup?
    : no

Garmin cure3 needs preboot visibility only, try it and follow Neil's post here:

After cure probably you will be able to remove files plugging it USB to pc.
Remove any GUPDATE.GCD from Zumo, Express wrote a file that bricked it.
    Reflash then original firmware.
Please read with care kunix's cure post before doing anything Be sure to use your unit HWID firmware.

Thanks for all, the Garmin now run, I've follow with care your indications and now is ok!!! I do not know why until this morning cure3 gave me error when performing updater.exe, but after reading your post I tried again and it worked, I think this was the turning point of the problem. Again, thank you.

If the error message was: " '!' There are no USB devices available ", that means the unit was not in pre-boot. Some devices when bricked, including zumo 6xx, are tricky to put into pre-boot and need numerous attempts. The rule of thumb is that if you can see the logo splash screen you can almost always reach pre-boot mode too [eventually].

I'm a little suspicious that the other zumo 660 was also a BMW Nav 4 derivative and one of the 3 items in the changelog for v4.80>v4.90 is 'Added AVRCP capability to the Nav IV product'.

    Thread marked solved.
