    Default Dead zumo 550...

A few days ago my Garmin zumo 550 after almost 4 years just died.I've done everything to wake it up but still nothing.
Is there any solution(exept $150 that garmin asks)to bring it back to life?

Have you tried holding the power switch on for > 30 seconds. (Remove Memory Card.)
Release and Plug in USB Cable.
I fixed a 3790 like this on Tuesday.

No power at all.No chance to put it back to life.I have tried EVERYTHING.It is totaly dead.Next step, i will try to replace the internal battery. That it will be my last action. If this is not works i will throw it away.
Sorry for being angry, but i've paid 450 euros 4 years ago and i didn't expect that...

Sometimes Garmin has Exchange Plans on refurbished units.
You hand in your dead unit + some Euros and they give you a Working Unit.
Contact Garmin Company before trashing the unit.

After a lot of searching in the net i have tried everything to put back to life my zumo. The solution that solved my problem was a short circuit at the internal battery, and boom, the zumo is back in business. When i say short i mean short.Just touch the two wires that are connected to the battery for a second.

UNSCREW THE 8 SCREWS WITH A T6 SCREWDRIVER-LEAVE THE BATTERY ON

OPEN CAREFULLY AND UNSCREW THE 5 SCREWS WITH A PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER

IT'S NOT NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE SCREEN-IF YOU WANT JUST OPEN THE TWO CLIPS AND REMOVE THE TAPES CAREFULLY(IN THE CIRCLE)

LIFT THE PLATE.DONT REMOVE THE EXTERNAL BATTERY CABLE(RED STAR).USE A SMALL SCREWDRIVER OR A CABLE TO SHORT CIRCUIT THE BATTERY(GREEN CIRCLE) ON THE TWO CONTACTS ON YOUR LEFT.JUST FOR A SECOND.NO MORE.

    AND AT LAST...LIGHT!!!!

    Thank you.
