Default 50k map of New Zealand

50k Topo map of New Zealand
Coutesy of LINZ and of course the copyright is with them too.
Since the maps are offered for free I just refer to the copyright and state that the maps are for private use only!
It took me ages to get them done, but I did not manage to combine the maps into a single map, 28 tiles was the best I can do.
Maybe the newer versions of the map merger can handle the big files but they would result in maps only usable in Ozi but no compatible mapping program.
Download the map [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Be aware that you are about to download 7 500mb parts!
The result will be just under 4GB, best I could squeeze out of over 60GB of data.
Please share and post your results/experience with the files in the thread.

    Hi Downunder

    Well done!

    Purely for information. My method:
Reduce each TIF to 8bit colour. I used Global Mapper.
Split files to North and South Island.
Merge with OziMapMerge v1.13 using Pixel Scale = 6.

    Result = 2 .ozf3 images - NI 1.49GB & SI 1.87GB

Works perfectly in OziExplorer, Ozi Android and Androzic.
    ---------
    Edit - Scale = 6 (not 30 - that was for 250k maps).

I prefer to keep the original pixel size.
But even with reduced colors the merger gave up on my, anyway the map files are up and if anyone needs more he can combine them.
Maybe you want to add you map as well?
