    Default Echomap 72sv Bluecharts G2

    Hey guys,
Need some advice. I downloaded the most recent version of east coast Australia maps and want to use them on the garmin chartplotter.
Do i need to unlock them first and then just go ahead and copy to sd and it should all be good? Or am I missing a step.

Downloaded from where? If you downloaded a locked map, you need to unlock it. Check the tutorial section for instructions and applications how to perform: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Take note of the very first link in the index as well: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Yes, once unlocked by gimgunlock name the img as gmspsupp.img and copy it to sd/Garmin. One Bluechart per sd only.

Thanks guys i got it working.
Seems like the maps were no good for inland lakes in Australia.
The basemap on homeport had more detail on the areas i was interested in than the actual bluevision. Is there anyway for me to transfer some of the data from the global map of selected areas?

Depending on what you want to do, maybe you'll get acceptable detail from this gmap version map: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. But if you want to use it for safe navigating in shallow inland lakes it's probably not a wise idea. It's probably no better than an automotive CN though for lakes.

Download (if it's shared for your topo) the pc version, install it in Basecamp and transfer parts you need in gps with Mapinstall (included in BC installation).
