Default Courseview on an Oregon 450

Is there a way to use the Approach Courseview golf course map software with an Oregon 450? The map thread in the Garmin MAps sub-forum mentions using a TYP file, but I am not familiar with that file type nor do I know how to use it. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Typ file is a file that holds the information about how map objects are displayed on map. It can be changed to please different tastes. Extension is .typ and must have the same FID of the map you like to modify.
There is a thread here too:

    For golf enthusiasts
As you know, a series of official maps Garmin CourseView course only supported by specialized Approach® devices. However, after the application of man-made TYP file these cards can be quite bearable to view, for example, in BaseCamp or others. Devices. See screenshot...
Original CourseView cards contain TYP subfile and to modify polygons and POI such cards do not really appear in the BaseCamp (ie they are transparent). With TYPViewer can determine the hex-type codes golf facilities and create appropriate TYP file, which is then easily add them to the map CourseView, for example, by ImgTool.
A sample of the TYP file CourseView Europe, Middle East & Africa v3.80 attached to the enclosure.
This file-just an example, you can edit it to your taste, for your device, except for hex-values types/subtypes. Do not forget to adapt the FID/PID added TYP file to a specific CourseView map...

You must learn how to use it, if you need, ask for help in TYPViewer thread.
