    Default Dezl 760lm

    Hello all,
I have just purchased a DEZL 760lm which I use in my 4wd, I have it set for car, I would like to know if anyone knows of a hack to remove or bypass the " you are in car mode" nag screen. this warning does not go away after a while and although it is not a big deal it would be nice to boot straight up to the menu or better still straight up to the map screen.
    Thanks all.

G'day millzzy. It would involve a firmware hack. The nag screen 'Your device are currently configured for Automotive mode ....' also appears on dezl 560 and nuvi 465 ['truckie's nuvi']. One of our Navigation Software Experts would be up for the job if they have the time.

However, if you don't use the truck mode functions at all you could just flash it with nuvi 2797 firmware. It's possible to do that in 2 ways, complete flash using full 2797 fw, or hybrid using 760 boot.bin combined with 2979 FW1_resources.bin & fw_all.bin. The latter is safer and retains the original dezl 760 HWID of 1516 but it would function as a 2797 regardless.

LOL! One above or even 'Spoon Fed' itself is ok, but breast fed is seriously verboten ... Go here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] It's the reverse of that nuvi 2460>dezl 560 conversion is all, just substitute the correct boot, fw_all and additionally fw1_resources bins. If you need more assistance or have a problem, post again here and I'll give step-by-step if you need it, but it's all at your own risk of course.

I'm having the same problem with my Dezl 560 - not sure a firmware swap would be an option though as I imagine that would mean losing backup camera functionality, which is the entire reason I bought the damn thing, but it's rather pointless if you're already done backing up by the time you hit agree to everything. On a positive note, I was able to get rid of the EULA prompt by simply deleting the entire EULA folder. That means I only have to hit agree twice now instead of three times. Yay.

The EULA usually goes away after you've driven for a short distance above a minimum speed with a good satellite fix.

You're wise to be wary of losing the BC20 use with 2797 firmware. I've been unable to confirm if the stock 2797 has that disabled in it's pinouts to the BC20 cradle/receiver or whether it's disabled in firmware, or maybe it's both [or neither and just a marketing ploy by garmin to not state 2797 and BC are compatible]. But Garmin is Garmin so i guess it's most likely firmware not hardware, or it's neither of them, but surely not both.

If you're game [not much risk, but it'd have to be all yours of course], you could try to flash 2797 fw using the dezl760 boot.bin and maintaining the dezl's HWID of 1516 rather than changing it to 1517 of nuvi2797. That should make it very safe to do and you can flash back very easily and safely too. Then if the BC20 doesn't work, just revert. You'd also be helping to eliminate or confirm firmware as an issue in the supposed incompatibility of the camera with 2797. If you want to try and need more help please ask, i'll make a pack for you if you want. I'd happily do that flash myself if i had access to an RV760 or a dezl760 and a BC20.
