NUVI What Does "Unpaved Roads" Really Cover?

When i select to avoid the "Unpaved Roads" option, i noticed many paved roads being avoided.

Is this a known issue and if so then how can this be fixed (if it even can be fixed)?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks a bunch!

Sometimes single lane paved roads are regarded as 'unpaved' because you need to move at least partly onto the unsealed shoulder to accommodate oncoming traffic....

As it seems to me, it is a problem not the navigator, and the manufacturer of the map: by it are incorrectly specified types of roads, that is the paved roads it I showed as unpaved.

    Description for Unpaved Roads.

Unpaved Roads is a place where you find barefoot children playing soccer !

For their safety always tick avoid unpaved roads on your Garmin Nuvi.

Unpaved road can have quite an extensive meaning. Here look what I mean:

I think this mapping is only one of its kind! Correct me if I am wrong! Even the latest Topo maps for Deutchland let say with routable tourist trails can't compare with it! What is unique in this mapping is that there are added 4-5 new types of routable unpaved roads (offroad roads) with different colours (custom polylines) - offroad roads suitable for 4x4, roads suitable for ATVs, for bikers/motorcycles and for tourists (tourist trails).

Imagination is what limits. Just an idea you can think over it. And of course is made in BG.

I am planning routes for a US road trip this summer, and part of the Moki Dugway in Utah is unpaved. Switching the avoidances to either paved or unpaved and adding waypoints so that it's pretty well forced to go that way will not make it use that section of the road!

My other beef with avoidances is that I'm currently planning trips on roads that are open in the summer but closed during winter. I know that it should route you away from these roads right now, but there is no way of telling it not to worry about seasonal roads. I've tried setting the date but it won't allow that.

Should be interesting what sort of hissy fit it has when I drive on roads it doesn't like
