Default Garmin nuvi 1490 - maximum number of route points?

I can't find anywhere this number.

I have long twisting route with many turns and I don't want to use highways and etc. It should the way I want it to be.
I can make it many ways, for example Google Maps or Tyre and convert to GPX so I can see it in Mapsource.
To make that route I should use many waypoints (or route points) where I shouldn't stop just pass through.
If I make it from track my route has many ponts more than 500 but there are lots of points which nuvi don't need at all. So I can mimimize this number.
But what's the optimal number for 1490? Does this nuvi works faster if I have less points or it doesn't metter?

Have anyone noticed how 1490 calculates the routes? Is it the same as Mapsource calculates it?

    Thank you.

The route in Mapsourse do not equal route in navi on big distance usualy. If you try time by time to adapt settings for routing in Mapsourse and navi may be you will have the equal routes. It is so difficult, trust me.
If you want drive by usual main roads network simply put key waipont from Mapsourse to navi and build route. No problem in unknown places!
If you want modify route by only selected route path you need edit route in navi by hot situation on screen map only.

If I have 50 waypoints for 150 miles with point on each turn and each stretch It should be almost the same?
Another question is how many such points I can place.

I don't know for sure with Nuvi 1490, but on both nuvi 2440 and Montana 650 the maximum number of waypoints on a route is 50. Probably so for all Garmin navigators?

Giomen, thank you. I had to to find that FAQ myself. 200 per few hundred miles seems to be quite reasonable number.
If and when I buy garmin which supports importing routes (23xx series do not support and it was my huge mistake to buy it) I will check that number. I am thinking of buying 1490 or 2460.

I am strongly not recomend Nuvi 1490. It not have a possibility to preview route to any selected point without interrupt current navigation! Do not know about this feature in 2460 (ask for user!). And in all sences 1490 is ugly device...
