Default trying to learn but stuck in the mud

It seem like the more I read the more confused I get. I own a numi 205 and would like to,
    1) Back up my original map that came with the unit
    2) Download a Taiwan Eng map from a friends numi 200 to share with others and upload on to my garmin.
I’ve installed the new patched Mapsource it recognizes both units. It sees the map the 200 but not on the 205. It won’t let me export the map located on the 200. Some threads often refer to mobile XT, is it the same procedure as the numi? When I run the UNL file creator it asks for a map product code. Where do I get that? I do know what the unit numbers are. Sorry about all the green questions but my head is spinning right now.
    Thanks,

Is the map as image available? Then Mapsource cannot do anything

I had two main problems. As mentioned, I was trying to use Mapsource with an image file and was trying to program the Garmin via software. I didn’t realize the PC recognized the unit as a HD. Everything fell into place after I got those things straight.
The fast IMG Unlocker is quick, easy and works great. One thing to note, the software will only unlock one file at a time. Not a big deal unless you don’t know about it. The unlocker must be placed in a folder with only one image. If placed with multiple images, it will only unlock the first one it sees.

Actually there is a gmap tool that allows mapsource to use an img...however as catymag has indicated there is the possibility of some information not translating. I have successfully played with the technique, but my review of the data is not exhaustive. A search will find the threads/tutorials. Here is one link [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
