    Can I use a 3D map without installing a 2D map, or they just work together?

    Do you mean "GmapDem.img"?
    Gmapdem has no POIs within ., just a contour - elevation.
    It's seem to be Basemap but it is not because it will be displayed at the same zoom-level of detailed map.
