The last version of Garmin maps came out in mid-December. City Navigator Brazil 2011.40 - Released in: 16.12.2010. Can we expect later this month for City Navigator Brazil 2012.40?

They are more in sync with the actual calendar in Asia (2011.40). I'm not a fan of the Garmin GPS religion with it's own calendar system.

Henry and Hanke also propose the abolishment of time zones. In a January 2012 article in Global Asia, they write.

One time throughout the world, one date throughout the world. Business meetings, sports schedules and school calendars would be identical every year. Today’s cacophony of time zones, daylight savings times and calendar fluctuations, year after year, would be over. The economy – that’s all of us – would receive a permanent ‘harmonization’ dividend.
Boy oh boy! Those guys make Garmin's calendar look totally sane. "One time throughout the world" .... wottha?... OK if you live in London's longitude i guess. Looks like they've already got us into 2012 as well. Happy New Year already... i think.
