Default View Google Earth Image on Montana 600

Hello all, I am looking for some help in trying to understand how I can take images from Google Earth and import them into my Garmin Montana 600. I have read a number of discussions but have not really found a clear explanation for how to do it.

Ultimately I am looking to have a satellite view of a specific area that I can view on the GPS. I have the Garmin Topo 24k maps already, Google Earth and Base Camp installed. Looking for some good instructions if any one can help.

With Garmin is not so easy as always. There is three ways. First read the topics about SAS Planet, JNX files, how to patch your FW etc. and you voalla. Second read about Garmin KMZ files. But doubt this way will suit you. Third just buy Birds Eye Sat Imagery and download sat images as much as you like from BaseCamp. Simple as that. As you wish...

P.P: Birds Eye are very good for the States. Unfortunatelly, seems only there.

Hello ddabcd277 and thanks for the information you provided. I am having a hard time finding a tutorial on how to do this from start to finish and concerned about trying to piece information together. When you say patch the FW, I assume you mean Firm Ware of the GPS?

For the Garmin Birds Eye subscription, at the end of the subscription if I dont renew would the information from original subscription still be usable in basecamp and the gps?

Yes, whatever you download from BE stays with you and your device. After the subscription is over you just can't download latest imagery. That is all. But nothing is lost what you have download previous.

If you wish don't pay attention to what I wrote as first. If you don't wan't to get deep in the piracy world and spare time, as time is precious, don't look at it. Just purchase BE and download sat images as much as you like. The subscription is not very expensive. Otherwise start from here:
