Default Shp files input for MPC compilation

I need some help most likely for a simple question.
I am trying to compile a mp map with MPC and always get a map with all codes to 0.
I think the problem could be the shp, shx and dbf formats input for MPC 8. I am using Ptxt2shp that gives me a correct, I think, shp files including my own custom objects.
Additionally if I use MPC with same configuration with the shp files input of the Garmin Sample , I get I good result, that most probably indicates that it is not a MPC configuration problem but file format input problem.
What is the most suitable and easy program to prepare shp inputs from mp map for MPC ?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Cnfhbr
    Thanks for your answer.
I knew MicroGIS Editor and I use it mainly for checking routing maps but to have now the option of exporting shp file is only available on the payment versión, not on the shreware one. I was looking for a available program.

    Kind regards

Yes I know a little bit the mp2shp , I have got a good MPC result but only with object Garmin types.
It is a good tool but no flexible to use. I tried defining customizable points an _types file and also associating a drawing on Edit Feature Displays style of MPC but I get changed codes with ? 0n img.
Is there any way to give an input to MPC like a TYP file in order MPC considers all custom object in a simple way ?
Neither I am not able to control the numbers of layers, if my map.mp has 5 levels and a put on Scale and simplification setting three Feature Layers I got 6 levels on img, on the contrary if I put with same input only 2 Features layers I got levels but all different on img comparing with the original mp.
As final commnet I read that mp2shp has still some restriccions as 2 and labels, this tool looks like has not be updated reciently, files are done on 2011.
    Any other suggestion ?

Thanks a lot for your answers.
    Best regards

Just the opposite, this is the most flexible tool in this respect from all available.
Absolutely any custom type of point (polygon or polyline) from the "polish" can be converted to standard or custom Garmin type by means of editing the tab _types.

It has no relation to the defects of this tool. Utility mp2shp takes all info from only the most detailed layer (Level0 in the "polish"), just like other similar converters. Everything else is done by the MPC in accordance with its configuration settings.

Utility mp2shp ignores these fields intentionally, as useless for the MPC.

You're right, this tool has not been updated for a long time and it will not be updated in the future, because MicroGIS Editor released.

    Thanks for your answer
I will follow doing tests and learning with this tool.I will check with a few customs objects and with diferent routing parameters and also experimenting a little more from MPC.
Second and third label are useful for me and I use it on my own maps, I do not see reason of Garmin MPC for discarding

So either buy Microgis editor or continue handling with this tool. Are both te programs from same authors ?

    Best regards

See "GARMIN Shapefile Specification" of the MPC Help. Which specifically attributes of Garmin Shapefiles, in your opinion, should correspond to these Polish attributes (Label2 and Label3) when you convert?

    MicroGIS Editor - is a full-featured map-making tool, and mp2shp - it's just a script without any further updates.
The authors of these programs are different, but they were linked.

My question is why Garmin does not consider Label 2 and 3 feature as other editing Programs ?, in fact BaseCamp and Garmin devices recognize Label 2 and 3 on roads and make them visible when you mark with the pointer. I asume that Garmin could find an attribute solution on Road Addressing Attributes collection probably a new one.

I know a litle MicroGis Editor , it is a very good program, very similar to MapEdit, useful for verify purposes

    Thanks again for your interest.

Hello, I need some additional help.
I was working well with mp2shp and MPC v8 and getting img with good results, I was modifying in several steps the -types file in order to incorporate my own customizables areas, lines /roads and points. I also introduce suitable drawings on MPC to get the typ file.
But suddenly it happens that MPC does not work at all I get this Building log text:
    **************************************************
    MapSource Product Creator v8.30
    **************************************************

    Building Product <Test Pedriza>...

    Building Area...

    Importing areas.shp...

Imported 0 areas, 0 lines, and 0 points.

    ERROR: Error creating map image.

The map is empty! Was any input data provided?

    C:\projects\map-create\MPC_MapCreator.cxx - 810

Apparently I did not change anything at all but It seems like the shp files were empty, but this is not the case because they have information.
I came back to previous steps with same result, I also changed with other maps and always same message of empty map. Next I reinstalled utility mp2shp and MPC, and same result with MPCv8.2,V8.3 am old MPC5.

    Any recommendation is very welcome.

    Kind regards
