    Thanks Catymag...
I try to extract some map as I0528D1A.GMP the result is look OK.
    I got 5 files as I0528D1A.tre,I0528D1A.rgn,I0528D1A.lbl,I0528D1A.net,I0528D1A.not
    then I use GMT.exe to combine them together as I0528D1A.img that look OK. (gmt -j I0528D1A.* -v -i -o I0528D1A.IMG)

    Hi,

I have been following this thread on the above subject topic, and i must say i'm impressed. But i'm still stuck as I'm unable to covert mine successfully.
    I have done the following:
    1) convert map to GMP subfiles
    2) processed the GMP subfiles with process-gmp, and it will convert them to RGN, LBL, etc subfiles.
    3) Join the resulting subfules with GMapTool.

But I've tried this and I can tell you that MapEdit is unable to open the resulting map, it says "WARNING: Unexpected format of input data. Text coding 11-bit per symbol is not supported".
I don't know what to do, as I'm not a map specialist.

Maybe this MapEdit message is because some map protection. But I don't know how to fix it.

Look forward to hearing from you

This thread is about pseudo-NT maps compiled with cgpsmapper. Your map is a true NT from Garmin, it can't be decompiled with GPSMapEdit.

    Thanks Kanopus,

So there's no way to convert to polish text (mp) format? Wow, I was really hoping there will be a way to do that. But what if I can only extract some of the data I need in order to go on with my research? may be extract to kmz or some sort. Any idea will be much appreciated.

    Cheers

Or is there any app that work with garmin mad for analysis sake, not just for viewing like mapsource.

Not possible to reverse-engineer NT format [at least it hasn't been publicised if someone has].

I've gone through a lot of forums, and i see that GPSMapEdit 1.0.66.7 can open NT formats (based on the experience of users). Not a version less or more, but this exact version. Said it's some kind of bug that processes the img file. But if your are lucky to have GPSMapEdit 1.0.66.7, kindly share, because I'm quite sure its of the internet. I have tried and tired...

I have 1.0.66.7 and many other versions. Don't waste any more time. It will all prove fruitless.

Here is an attempt from a couple of years ago on this forum: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

These users are wrong and mislead you.
The version 1.0.66.7 of GME is able to parse only pseudo-NT format, not the true NT format.

7 years later, I know but I gotta ask - is there still no solution as of today to convert NT-format maps to something else?
