    Default Best satellite/aerial site

I wish to download and install satellite/aerial imagery on my eTrex 20 for kayaking here in Florida East coast. I prefer satellite/aerial imagery over marine charts since we kayak well outside the navigable channels. I'm looking for the best site to download high resolution GeoTIFF files which I can then convert to kmz format using MapC2MapC. So far the best I've found is the USGS imagery at:

If Etrex 20 is able to display custom maps, try Terra Incognita. Link :

It will allow you to save zoomable custom maps in kmz or jnx.

    Hi,

Try MOBAC (+MOBAT2JNX + JNX Customizer) with Virtual-Earth Satellite.bsh add-on to create .jnx satellite imagery, but you'll have to patch your etrex 20.

I compared a few satellite photographs from both Virtual Earth and your dataviewer (from your link above) and they look the same !

You can find Virtual-Earth-Satellite.bsh here :

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

This file has to be put into MOBAC mapsources folder.

Or just use SASPlanet which support export in JNX format. Also there's many of satellite sources including and Google satellite images which are supported by SASPlanet.

Yes, but I find .jnx made from SASplanet blurred in comparison with those created from MOBAC.

The best aerial imagery is orthophotography made from planes In general every country need to have it but by default is payed and used from government agencies, military, geodetic surveying etc...
