I have the same situation (like Ellinas), but there is no Runtime error.
The small window (with OK) is annoying.
I got a different error this time but i was able to delete the path of TYP file.

No problem with drag & drop after using "Close File" with this version. New small window with OK option only to continue is coming up every time.

In this version, I have added another error handler in an other procedure, please tell me the new error message.I got a different error this time but i was able to delete the path of TYP file.
It seems that you have installed at least one gmap folder somewhere else than in :C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps and that you have put a link in this folder (a link pointing to your gmap folder), is it correct?
It seems that this error has nothing to do with my recent changes: can you please try an old version like 4.5.7 that you can find here:Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
I tried 4.5.28, i think that drag & drop its OK now.
Absolutely correct i have three gmap folders installed in a second HDD with shortcuts to the default folder. I have the same error again with 4.5.28, i don't get any error with v.4.5.7.
Is there a shortcut with a very long path in your folder C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps ?
Please, try this version :Spoiler:

I found what the problem was. Latest version of TYPViewer can see all the gmap products that have shortcuts created manually by me but not the product City Navigator Europe 2016.10 because this one has a shortcut created automatically by Garmin Express because of the directory i gave during map update procedure. All i had to do was to erase the original shortcut & create one of my own. Problem solved.
Shortcut name was D:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps nothing really big ...
The problem is not the name of the shortcut but it is the path to the target folder.Shortcut name was D:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps nothing really big ..
Please, could you send me this shortcut? (the .link file ), if you still have a copy of it....
I'm curious and I would like to understand why this shortcut makes TYPViewer crash
The target folder is the same for all gmap products that i had make shortcuts for, the only difference was that this specific shortcut has been created automatically by G.E. After replacing it with one i created TYPViewer didn't crash.
I don't have the shortcut anymore i erased it but i'll do the procedure with G.E again & i'll send it to you.
Just repeat the procedure with G.E installing map for PC in the directory D:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps. The shortcut created in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps makes TYPViewer to crash, after replacing it with one manually created by me TYPViewer doesn't crash anymore. Please check your pm for the shortcut you asked for !!
New version with new procedure for reading shorcuts: now it is working for all shortcuts (AFAIK) even those made by GE
