Default Questions for Recovery of INE-W920R / Mazda AVN2 unit

My original AVN2 is in a loop after getting an error during installation of the actual european maps. It wants to reset to factory default and after allowing this it wants to set the language. Some time later it wants to set again the language. After a while it wants again to set to the factory defaults. It is in a loop and does no more else.

I'm a neewbie and I read tons of threads here Now I have a great knowledge (I hope but I have several questions (please improve me if I say something wrong!):

I do not want to use crckd material. I want to use the original files from Alpines site like firmware and navi software. After installing this I hope that the navi will work again and so I can try to install the actual maps. Or is there a better way to solve the loop problem?

I read how to use the downloadable autorun file on an SD card and the procedure how to start Win CE. I know that I have to make a backup first before changing anything. My first silly question: The navi has no mouse, no keyboard. Do I have to connect one or can I use the touchscreen? If I can't use the touchscreen: Where to connect a kbd or a mouse - front or rear? If I have to connect it to the rear I have to know how to demount the navi.

For Alpines firmware I have to use an USB stick as described in the instructions for the firmware update. Same problem: Where to connect the stick?

Btw, the local Mazda car dealer wants to get a repaired or used AVN2 from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] / ebknl.nl. It costs me 700 Euro incl. install. And he wants to send the old navi to ebk NL (I hoped to sell it via ebay to minimize the costs). This work takes 30 minutes the dealer told me. Do you think price and time are ok? I hesitate to follow his words. Can't believe this time.

    I tried something:
First of all I do not have an USB at the front. So I put a zero byte length AlpineNavi.exe onto a SD card. Nothing happened trying this card. Fully ignored.

I didn't try the well known autorun folder from this site. I decided to update the navi software immediately without saving the Alpine folder. To this I used the actual navi software file from alpine, unzipped, copied and so on. Using the card I got a strange screen for several minutes. No message, no progress, nothing happened, so I turned power off and on. Now I saw an update screen with a progress bar. I was informed not to turn power off. Oh, I was happy.

It should take about 2:40 minutes but it told me already after 1 minute that the update is done (??).

Next, couldn't believe it, I was asked for the language. German, Done. After a while I was asked for the language again. German, Done. After a while I had to accept a reset to factory defaults and so on (see description above). I'm in the same loop again. The navi doesn't use the navi software sd card again.

I have no more ideas and I'm a lot frustrated. Would be great if anyone has a good idea.

Edit: Nearly all files of my navi software update sd card no longer exist! The navi deletetd nearly all exept two files in the folder autorun:
    SyncTaskDef.dll
    UpdateStart.exe

I copied the autorun files to sd card to reach into Win CE. This works. I could use Windows CE 6.0. I searched around and took a look into the folder My Flash. There is no folder "Alpine" !

I used AU_INE-W92xR_W977BT.zip from Alpines site. Is there a logfile created in CE during update? Maybe I can try to interprete it why the update fails, if so. Last I saw was that he updated O. S.

If you can help or have an idea, please do not hesitate and please let me know. I am a novice and need your help, which shows me the right way to solve the problem. I am sitting here in front of a desk full of notes and with a smoking head and with many folders and files in my computer to this problem, but unfortunately I am at the end of my ideas. Here are so many good professionals, should I believe that no one has an idea? What would you do if it were your navi? Please tell me, thanks.

Thanks for your hint! As described above, I do not have these (German) folders: VOICE, LANG and TTS_NUA_V5 coz there was no folder Alpine to find on the navi looking for it with Win CE. So I also do not have a backup of the Alpine folder from its original state. I'll take a look into a toolbox backup. Hope this helps. Otherwise I would like to ask here to send these folders to me.

Couldn't find German data for folders VOICE, LANG and TTS_NUA_V5. I tried some ideas but always I get such error:
Unsupported voice please see the log.
Which log? I did not find a log. Where is this log?

I searched the web but I couldn't find downloads for VOICE, LANG and TTS_NUA_V5.The backups of toolbox doesn't have such data, it seems. Can anyone send me the data?

Why poor help in this forum? Can't believe that :-( Never seen such a dead one.
Are you waiting for an offer with money? I think that's forbidden here.
So I have to throw away this navi into the waste. Yes, I'm disappointed and frustrated.
    Thanks to giuseppe.

Jeanet, thanks for your answer which made me able to see the high activity in this forum now. Sorry for my wrong feeling.

    Jeanet ment:
This will really invite members to give you more help

More help? ... you're kidding, isn't it? I'm too old to believe in Santa. Jeanet, please realize the facts: see the poor activity / help in this part of the forum where members patiently were waiting weeks and months. So your text is a bit strange for this situation. May be you used the wrong text block?

Btw, when I write such text then be sure that I came across to be absolutely sure of no more help. I never answer old and dead questions too which are >= one week old mostly residing in archives.

    It wastes my time now.

    Have a nice time all.

More help ... :-D Thanks for this, Jeanette! I like funny people.

Btw, the server is very slow here in Bavaria / Germany.
