Thanks for testing
May be Chinese language creates problems to MPC and it makes override map size limit.
@cecial
May you test a previous CN map version too? Or other big Chinese map like a topo?
@Neil
Yes, in readme, *100225 exe files should be used, the difference between these two files is with shift map or not.
so, this version can only display China map over 2 GB.
thanks for all your supports!
maybe you guys can take this as reference, then to develop a version which is also can be used for other maps.
Thanks for testing

You have to navigate to get to the good.

@cecial
Thanks for uploading the entire program not just its Que.exe as i request. That alone would have disclosed nothing to us of course. And yes, i had surmised that it's possible those other .exe files had something to do with allowing the big CH NT to be used. I'd already translated the ReadMe to EN and understood their primary purpose with the shift, but of course it may well be that the Author was aware but didn't want to publicise the fact that somehow the 2GiB file limit is also overcome either intentionally or by accident. Clearly that's not for any big non-CH image files though if my demonstration with EU is definitive.
Like Caty, i'd also be interested to hear if it's only tied to that version of CH CN or if other CH versions and map types 2GiB> are usable.
There are quite vast differences between the three *.exe files in hex. Like looking in for needle in a haystack trying to isolate the 'trigger' which enables the use of that big CH img [for me anyway]. But if found maybe it could be transplanted into Que.exe to enable other large maps. Or Caty's musing may well be right about MPC override and CH language.

Lol I made a search and I could see MobilePC related thread on sosaw is not visible to normal members, posts display but their content is private. My translation says "only the author can see it".
May be cecial could tell us something more about that thread

@catymag,
the thread in your your post wast latest post and i can't see the post either...though i have registered already...
you can search "Garmin PC" for more information.
actually, this version is long long ago, so i can't find where it first came out, and who is the author of this program.
I searched in www, but no info about "hack/*****" of this.
about the display lanuage, from my search, i think it is only related to Vioce/Chinese*vpm, and Test/Chinese*.gtt files.
for Chinese Topo map, can it exceed 2GB? i think it should be smaller than whole China map.
anyway, i'll keep testing, and post my finding.
thanks!
Hey all I seem to be having issues with importing the 2015.30 or 2015.20 maps into mapSource and transferring them to Garmin Mobile PC.
This is what it looks like when i select 2015.30 map:
So i really have no idea what I am doing wrong. When i do just send that to Garmin by hitting the "send to device" it works just fine without errors:
But inside Garmin Mobile PC when trying to get an address to navigate to i get the following:
But i know its a "detailed" map because it says so in the map Sets:
So i really have no idea what needs to be correct in order to fix this problem. Any help would be great!
Mapsource can't handle properly new City Navigators, it's a discontinued program since a long time, don't use it to build your .img, use Basecamp (patched) + Mapinstall (patched)
Mobile PC too is old and discontinued, it can have problems too with new maps.
Additionally, be sure to have a basemap in MPC folder, put in BC/MS details at max, be sure your .img is unlocked and it's less than 2 gb.
Use original pc install and unlock by yourself.

Further, i guess by 'importing' you mean you've reverse engineered an image file into an installable simple preview map using GMAP_Tool:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
That's ok for viewing in MapSource [still better to look at the image file directly in BaseCamp anyway], but if you then re-compile an image from the preview map installation it is never going to work properly anyway. Search will be compromised at the very least. Do as catymag says, get a proper PC Install version or gmap folder and then compile your image under 2GiB using MapInstall.
