    Default USA&AUS Mapsbank topos

Awhile ago, I found a torrent for the Mapsbank U.S. and Australia topos on one of the major torrent sites.
This torrent directed you to a fake Piratebay site where you were then directed to make a text message contact for access to the files.
Not liking then feel of this setup, I went on an extensive search for a torrent that gave better access to these files.
After a long search, I finally found a freely accessible set of these maps on, what to me was, an obscure Russian torrent site.
I was able to download the entire 7.82GB folder containing 3 Australian maps, [mentioned here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ] and 53 U.S. maps [a few of which are mentioned here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ], a total of 56 maps.
I have installed 3 of them on my PC.
They are compatible with Garmin BaseCamp and should be uploadable to Garmin GPSs.

The torrent I downloaded them from is no longer active.
I'm thinking of setting up another torrent to make these maps available to others that might be interested in them.
I do not remember seeing any files here available through torrents.
As far as I can see, this has too many files and is too large a package to put onto a file hosting site.

    Are torrents acceptable here?
    Any thoughts?

Yes you can, we had those threads by the author,
but his site disappeared and maps removed, so I removed it from index.
You can add the torrent links in original threads, thanks

OK, I'll get it together and post links to the torrent file.
It will take me a bit to get it together.
I am in the middle of a few other projects right now.
As soon as I get them finished, or at least whittled down some, I'll get onto this.
Still got a lot of cleanup and fixing to do on the leftovers from the storm that came through a couple of weeks ago.

Plus, I will have another torrent that I'll get set up also:
A complete set of USGS topo maps for Alaska in an application to use on a PC.
It can be used in conjunction with a GPS, although the maps cannot be uploaded to the GPS.
You can stitch maps together and print paper maps as big as you can print.
Tracks , routes and way-points can be created, then uploaded or downloaded.
It is 7.5GB with 12 iso files of the 11 CD set and a 12th CD containing updates and a few other miscellaneous files that may be of interest to users.

OK, The MapsBank torrent is located here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    and here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Mapsbank - Australia and U.S. Topo Maps

These are MapsBank topo maps from the defunct Mapsbank site.
There are 3 maps for Australia, and 53 maps for the individual U.S. states, territories, etc.
There is no password required or text message to be sent to a fake TPB site to be able to access these maps.
All maps are individually downloadable if you do not want all of them.

They are compatible with Garmin BaseCamp and uploadable to Garmin GPS's from BaseCamp.
Each map is in an EXE file.
    Install the ones you want.
They will show up in BaseCamp's drop down map list.

My connection is not all that fast [1mbps max].
I'm on a VPN where I get disconnected quite often, and I sometimes need to shut down seeding for a while.

I'll keep uploading until at least one d/l is completed.
When you finish your d/l you will need to seed so that others can get it too.
The more people seeding, the faster it can be downloaded.

I'll get to the other map set soon.

    EDIT:
I have the second mapset ready to upload to a torrent site.
But, the people downloading the first mapset are maxing my upload bandwidth.
I will not do the second set until there is a good group of people that have finished uploading it and are seeding it for others.
They've got 35% of it right now.
At that rate it'll be at least another 2 days before I start the second set.

    ReEDIT:
I have a lousy VPN service that is slow and keeps closing my connection.
Getting the US&AUS files uploaded to others took much longer and was more complex than I had anticipated.
But, they're up and others are sharing them now as well as myself.

I finally had to bypass the VPN to get the upload finished.
I cannot do that with the 2nd map set.
    It is ready to go.
I will put it up eventually.
Right now, I have other things that are of a higher priority to be gotten done.
I will get to it eventually.
And, I will do it in another thread of its own when I do.
