Reply With QuoteFM Traffic is not working because the Traffic Receiver uses the same pins on the USB Plug for Comms.
Maybe the USB plug has bad soldering to the PCB of the Nuvi.
Or the USB chip could be faulty.
I don't think that it's a Firmware problem !

Updater.exe recognize your nuvi or not?
Open updater.exe
make shure that nuvi is turned off
add finger in uper left corner of screen
connect nuvi with other hand to PC ( finger is still in nuvi screen)
updater.exe will see your nuvi in window beside USB
p.s.
Try connect nuvi with different usb cable to PC.
