    Garmin Nuvi 37xx Factory Reset

    Method 1
1.Start with the device turned off and unplugged from power
    2.Power on the device
3.When the first copyright screen appears press and hold the lower right hand corner of the display portion of the touchscreen
4.Remove your finger from the touchscreen when "Erase all user data?" appears
    5.Touch Yes

    Method 2
    1.Turn the nuvi on
    2.Touch View Map
3.Touch the data field that displays speed
4.Touch and hold your finger on the center of the speedometer until the screen changes (about six seconds)
    5.Touch Clear all user data
    6.Touch Yes to confirm

I guess you can try just method n one , but I'm afraid it wont help, follow lolypop advice .

I cannot get method 1 to work on 3490.
    Should it work ?
    Method 2 works fine.

    Sorry, Blonde Moment.
    It's working now.
I had it connected to usb power.
Must do it on battery power.

Method 1 does not work and 2 is not possible.

Lolypop seems complicated and so easy to do more damage?

The alternative is to send it to Garmin service and get a refurbished unit probably.
Btw isnt too complicated, just read carefully and follow step by step kunix's tutorial.
