Good idea would be to reset Dakota before trying to update.
To perform reset, press and hold upper left edge of screen and then turn Dakota on. Hold screen till appears question about removing user data and answer yes.

Good afternoon. After renovation 5.20(Patch) on 5.30(Patch) my Dakota 20 were not loaded. Except this, Windows XP did not see the navigator as USB-device .Thanks Kanopus, i have looked references and has entered so. Has Connected Dakota to computer, has pressed on button of the cut-in and kept long until Dakota was defined as USB-device. Has Loaded in root file Garmin version 5,20(non Patch) and has started Updater.exe. The Dakota was restored and loaded. Then I have did by FirmwarePatcher 29 versions 5.30 patched, not changing names ("don't change the About page and the firmware version name"), and has updated anew. All were updated.
