Not sure this is timely anymore since this is an old thread, but for anyone who comes to it, stay away from any unit without an SD or micro SD slot. I have a Dakota 10 without a card slot, and it's driving me crazy after only 2 weeks.
I have a Nuvi 50 with
CN Aust&NZ 2013.5,
Aust&NZ Topo v3,
tracks4Australia 1.2 Pro
and BlueChart 2008.5 installed from Mapsource!
Nice

Hi Catymag!. sorry for my english.
I have a nuvi 510 (same 500/550) I use in boat and car every weekend, without problem, in my modest opinion is not wonderful but is good GPS. (with some limitation like work with tracks)
I have two doubts
1) In firmware revision from version 3.10 to 3.20:
Garmin added support for raster maps. I not understand the finality or posible use of this.
2) Acording specification I understand don't have capacity of use Custom Maps (KMZ). o JNX. But with patch firmware or "alternative way", is posible to do that ?
Thanks!

Hello.
Why not to consider the nuvi 1490T it has the big screen in nuvi, bluetooth, traffic reciever and is compatible with ECO Route HD.
Pablo
Hello,
How can I know what nuvi has the best processor?
Thanks in advance
Pablo
I guess, Nuvi 34** and 35**, since both have 800x480px display. Processor must be pretty power to serve that.
I like my old Nuvi 1350 with card life but reboot loop
Nuvi 50, so good I bought 2 just in case some mongrel stole one from me!
Both $88 AUD from Harvey Normans, wow!
So Far very reliable after 2 firmware updates, 3 City Navs, 2 Topos, 1 Bluechart. 1 Aus Tracks, 2 contours...
Recommended!
