    Another alternative to the above:-

    Get QuickGPSFix-data without using TomTom-Home v2.05
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    OS : Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista (32-bit)
    What to do . . . .
    ------------------
    *) Look in the map ".\ephem" on your TomTom:
    If the file "lto.dat" exist your TomTom has the GlobalLocate chipset.
    If "packedephemeris.ee" exist your TomTom has the SiRFStarIII chipset.
    1) If your TomTom has the GlobalLocate chipset:
    --------------------------------------------
    a) Copy the 3 files : GlobalLocate_GLLTO.exe
    : GlobalLocate_TomTom.exe
    : WGet.exe
    to the map ".\ephem" on your TomTom.
    b) Run "GlobalLocate_TomTom" and test it for a few days.
    Test also the update form the "GLLTO" site for a few days.
    ! For the best GPSFix preformence update every 3-4 days.
    c) Choose the "GlobalLocate_???" file that give's the best result.
    2) If your TomTom has the SiRFStarIII chipset:
    -------------------------------------------
    a) Copy the 4 files : SiRFStarIII_HTC.exe
    : SiRFStarIII_MIO.exe
    : SiRFStarIII_TomTom.exe
    : WGet.exe
    to the map ".\ephem" on your TomTom.
    b) Run "SiRFStarIII_TomTom" and test it a few days.
    Test also the update from the "MIO" and "HTC" site a few days.
    ! For the best GPSFix preformence update every 3-4 days.
    c) Choose the "SiRFStarIII_???" file that give's the best result.
    Default TomTom QuickGPSfix Update Tool
    Here are some things to download the latest quickfix data without the need to start TT Home.
    If you are not sure what GPS chip your device uses: Press Reset, turn on, as soon as the TT logo appears press and hold the power button - a system screen will appear that shows your device infos.
    Line 9 after GPS type shows your GPS chip.
    1: for One V3/V4, OneXL, XL30, ?? GOx40/x50, One IQ, XL IQ - Global Locate Chip :
    2: for GOx00/x10/x20/x30, OneV1/V2 - Sirf3 Chip :
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Unpack the corresponding archive to the folder "Ephem" on your device/SD.
    If QuickFix never worked for you using Home a .tlv file is included, you don't have to overwrite yours if you alrady have one.
    Simply start the quick fix program for the download, weget must be allowed to download so set it to allow in your firwall.
    I have no program for the sirf2 chip but all quick fix data can also be downloaded manually :
    Hello,
    my first message on this forum!
    Can I assume this quickgpsfix update tool is only required if you don't automatically get the GPSfix from the PC Tomtom Home app?
    Regards
    Craig
