Thanks for the corrections!
I believe the 5th map, City Navigator SEA (I thought it was Southeast Asia not Southern) NT is not as updated as the specific City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia map. But the advantage of course is that it covers all the SEA countries, or most of it. But I seem to recall that for some coutries like Indonesia, it only covers certain cities.
I still do not know the answer to my original question, which is why the files for City Navigator map for Singapore/Malaysia is more than twice the Malsingmaps NT 2011 map with similar features. Could be due to any reason but I would like to know the actual reason so that I can decide which map to use. Personally, I would much prefer to use the most updated MSM 2012 map but unfortunately, there is no junction view yet. So, lack the cool factor!
It's just a sample file for KL. See this post and preceding posts here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. MSM NT v5.37 & 5.38 have a similar sample file of 961KB. Need lotsa time to find 'em in simulation or a couple of tanks of dinosaur juice to find 'em in the live, unless there's some info on their site to say where they are. Can't be very many views at under 1MB file size, even in low res. Maybe they will do a full file soon?
Congratulations to MFM!!! They finally strike a deal with Garmin!
MFM just announced its collaboration with Garmin to release free NT maps with junction views. For more info, see,

It will be good if MSM and MFM can get back together and produce a single really good map.
No. The JCV file(s) go in x:\Garmin\JCV. If the sub-folder 'JCV' does not exist, create it.
Thanks Neil.
By the way which type*.exe file suitable for Garmin-Asus A50? I found 2 different info's from other website and don't know which is the correct one. Both type3.exe and type4.exe info look confusing.
Thanks.

2nd info (other website)
==================
type1.exe - nüvi 3790 series (1.08gb)
type2.exe - nüvi 205/205W series, GMXT, GMPC (56.5mb)
type3.exe - nüvi 1250 series (405.81mb)
type4.exe - nüvi 1460/1350/765/255W series (484.38mb)
type5.exe - nüvi 2xxx series (522.06mb)
Yes, i can see the conflict of info in Type3 & 4 there. Beats me which one is right.
I don't have a Garminfone but i think the file structure is the same as the Nuvi 1xxx/2xxx/3xxx series. Your A50 certainly supports JCV and i think you could use either Type3 or 4 depending on screen resolution. The 1200 has lower screen resoultion so i guess the Type3 JCV is just lower res than that in Type4, maybe? However, if your A50 also supports ASR you may need to get Type5 to get ASR files. Type1 would have 3D building files which i doubt the A50 supports.
Have a look at the Garmin SG site to compare what features different Nuvis support and how they compare to your A50 features:
If this doesn't help you, post again and maybe someone with an A50 can help you more. Like i said, i don't have access to an A50 so i'm guessing a bit with the above.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
