Again, you misunderstood my point. May be it my bad English. I will try to put it more clear. Jetmouse keygen here at Noeman and at many other forums worldwide CAN be used to generate
unl codes for img and gpi files and to MALICIOUSLY (again, I am not suggesting or intending to do it!!) make profit from it by illegally selling to inexperienced people (and I, just like you against it).
In this sense making "regular" unl for img or gpi is equivalent to what you call "crippling a device". Unl code resticts (so to say-"cripples") each particular img and gpi file to be used only at certain device (via device/flashcard ID). And you definitely perfectly know it. Adding additional "crippling" via unl with expiry period changes NOTHING in this situation. Moreover for potential malicious user it would be HARDER to sell img and gpi with expiry period. I do not want to go into detailed explanations about it, since this is technical and not managerial forum and moderators may not be happy with me going into details. I will only mention that it is very naive to think that someone can make money by selling img or gpi files (does not matter Garmin or self-made) anywhere on globe (except for very specific and rare countries, of course).
The only practical use for keygens and unlockers is to cr a ck the offical Garmin maps for yourself or your friends. The other MINOR option (which I am considering now) is to make img and gpi files based on your personal vector and raster data and distribute them FREE of charge to open public. If these FREE maps come with unl with expiry period then public will download them regularly. If experienced users prefer to use outdated version then they will simply unlock img file or generate regular (without expiry period) unl for img and gpi files and put at some internet forum, so others can use unlimited version.
Asking someone here at this forum to provide keygen/unlockers or some other solution makes no sense, since there are alternative keygens/unlockers already present
here and these provide reversed functionality.
Actually, at the present moment I thinking more about some other software platform to build my maps, instead of Garmin. If someone wants to make personal legal proprietary maps with locked (protected from export) data and expiry period there are good quite affordable legal software solutions for this. For instance, CarryMap by DataEast (this is not advertisement). For a very affordable price you can legally produce executable map files with locked and protected data with expiry date set for many mobile OS. And the technology to build these maps is much simpler than that for Garmin img..
The strong advantage of Garmin maps, however, is very large established community of end users.
