Hi Caty, good call! This is worth trying.

I would also use RGN_Voice_Editor to see if the voice is supported already by your firmware. The chinese firmware may be like the taiwanese firmware and some voices may not be supported. I would try to add it in the firmware and reprogram.

If it works but the voice prompts do not make sense, I would try patching the firmware using RGN_Tool just to see if it fixes the problem.

This wisdom is that I lack, that is, I'm not good at these things. But I will investigate. I have a Garmin nuvi 670 which is prepared for use in Brazil. I need to know what the folders that I could try replacing in nuvi 1455. Is it possible make a transplant?

Recently bought a Nuvi 1390t. The American female voice "Jill" sounds awful, stuttering a bit. However, American male voice Jack is crisp and clear.
Anyone would know were can i get or download Jill's voice? The one i have maybe corrupted or something. It should be in vpm file format that tts. Thanks.

Delete it from voices folder and run webupdater

Others have reported that the new Jill voice is bugged. It is not corrupted. Downloading it again will most probably not improve. You need an older Jill voice.

Is the voice speaking now for example chinese/english?
