Default How to convert 1450 firmware to PH / ASIA

Anyone please? Badly needed help. So frustrated with my newly bought 1450, coz I thought that I can use the JCV here in Phils. Tried flashing it with the steps in this thread [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] but no luck, the GPS crashes and turns off when switches to junction view..

I was thinking that maybe the only local Nuvi 1360 will only work for the map (CN Philippines NT 2011.30) that supports JCV?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Inputs are much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

    1). Use RGN_Tool to save boot.bin (from original US 1450 gupdate.gcd)
    2). Use RGN_Tool to save fw_all.bin (from Ph 1360 gupdate.gcd)
    3). Use RGN_tool to save fw1_resources.bin (from Ph 1360 gupdate.gcd)

    4). Use RGN_Tool :: Load US boot.bin from1). , fw1_resources.bin from3). , fw_all.bin from2).
    5). You will see boot.bin hwid = 972
6). You have to override fw_all hwid to be 972 same as boot.bin

    7). Save to out.rgn
    8). Flash via preboot mode & updater.exe

    .... Good luck.

    Ph 1360
    Code:

You should recheck your rgn file with RGN_Tool to be sure it's no error report and have hwid 972 both boot&fw_all.

About the step 8. Flash via preboot mode & updater.exe

Do I still have to remove and backup the GUPDATE.gcd file before running updater? And also, should I still use Win XP same as the instructions in the previous thread?

Also, what name should I put on the new RGN?

You must delete gupdate.gcd before. (within .system folder)
You can name out.rgn or 097201000220.rgn ., it's up to you.

Hi, just did all the things posted above, flashed successfully, but still crashes..

The things I also did are:

    1. Renaming the RGN same as the US' RGN file
    2. Returned back the GUPDATE.gcd file back after the flashing

I've also noticed that in "Select a locale", there's still no Philippines. Does it really matter?
