Garmin Nuvi MapSet format- how to store them in your device

Hi all,
I have downloaded CNEUNT 2012.10 from Multiupload. All the files: mapsource, ASR, G2S, JCV, etc. Unlocked them, but when I wanted to copy into may device, Nuvi 3790, something happened and device cannot see the maps. I copy it into System (hidden folder), both gmasupp.img and gmap3d.img. I have tried and recopy all of them. Same, nothing. If I put these files on a SD card it works OK. At least gmapsupp.img.
What I have done wrong?

How did you unlock them?
After unlocking ,if you have already in .System a gmapprom.img put the CNE img in internal memory in a folder named Map, rename it CNE.img and along its gmap3d.img.

Hi Caty,
Usually I unlock with Garmin Kgen 1.5, but since Map ID >2000 I use Unlock Map Directory ver. 5.6.3.0 from *********.
All previous versions of CNEUNT I have unlocked with this tool and worked OK.
Now I think I have done something wrong during copy of .img file to device and since then I can't see the maps.
I'll try what you have suggest and came back with results.

I donnow if your unlocker is the latest version, if not update it, or use
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
this will work or run on the img

Hi Caty,
I have tried to move the maps image as CNEU.img to Map folder and it works, but gmap3d.img does not work.
I do not see it in maplist view. All other maps are there OK, but 3d not.

When you say "old map updates" for the sum files, what do you mean? Can they be safely deleted?

yes you can delete .sum files

are Garmin Nuvi 1490T and 1690 supported the IMG file or the asian map like philippines?

But if you just create new folder named map , you can put ANY.img file inside and it'll work.
By ANY i mean any name numbers letters combination, also it can support a lot of maps i've dropped 10 files inside, and they all worked !! The only positive development in new 1XXX series IMHO

Hi there! I have Nuvi 1350 and I'm trying to install thai map (TSM11.1) but it seems like the device still couldn't find the installed map I put in. But when I check the map info from the device's menu, the TSM11.1 is ticked. Please can anyone help me with this?

One more question, Where should I put the JVC file? inside the "map" folder or I have to create another folder called "JVC"?
