    SD-Card\Garmin: gmapsupp.img and gmap3d.img
SD-Card\Garmin\JCV: xxx.JCV (sorry, don't remember the exact file name now)
Hello Tom. I hadn't created a GARMIN folder... but I have now. I've renamed the gmap file to gmapsupp and included the 3d file, both files in the GARMIN folder and D2867010A.jcv file into a JCV folder in the GARMIN folder as you suggested. Looks to be working!!! Many thanks. Does the gmap3d file need to be renamed at all? Thanks again.

Hello again... no such thing as a stupid question, right? Well I am curious to why there is a locked and unlocked version of this map. Are there advantages/disadvantages with each/either? If not why would someone use the locked version? Thanks.

Hello, I have a issue with one of your files both locked/unlocked..gmap folder uncompressed 204 MB
There is NO IMG file to see. All you get when extracted is a folder:City Navigator Australia & New Zealand NT 2011.30.gmap
Inside in a folder called:CN_AusNZ_NT_2011_30_mdr. inside there are 2 files that are "MDR".
In another folder called "Product 1" there a sub folders.
In the main extracted folders are odd MDX file / trf.trf files. etc.
I see no "IMG" file located that is required, the file called......gmap.img
..............can someone please tell me what im am missing...

the one you downloaded is the gmap folder: mapsource installation, copy it in:

    Windows XP:
Copy "City Navigator North America NT 2011.31.gmap" folder into
    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps
    OR
    %APPDATA%\GARMIN\Maps

    Vista and windows 7:
Copy "City Navigator North America NT 2011.31.gmap" folder into
    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GARMIN\Maps
    OR
    %APPDATA%\GARMIN\Maps
(or something like that all other languages)

    to unlock use

Thank you all for your patience and instructions. I'm slowly getting used to the terminology of all this and hopefully the penny will drop all the way sometime soon

Can anyone advice me if 255W is able to load more than 2 maps at one time? I only can load 2 maps at a time:
    gmapprom.img - Aus & NZ Map
    gmapsupp.img - SG & Malaysia Map

I've try to add in Japan map with the file name gmapsupp1.img
, but no such map found in my GPS map info. Anyone can provide me some information & advice?
