Thread: nuvi 855 Firmware 4.80

maybe something else changed in one of the other folders, the modified time would be only way to know. This is one of the reasons I hate doing updates via myGarmin.

I have updated my Two Garmin Nuvi 855 thru Garmin's WebUpdater, and got updated from Software Version 4.60 to Version 4.70. My unit numbers are 36XXXXXXX, which may explain why I do not get Software Version 4.80 as per above unit with unit number 35XXXXXXX. But I still get the FREEZING problem almost every time I start my trip for the first 3-5 minutes after which I had to pull out the battery to reset, very inconvenient while driving!. If Software Version 4.8 will get rid of this freezing problem I would like to get it too. But how can I?

You can update to 4.80 without WebUpdater.
1). To get gupdate.gcd (4.80)
2). Delete previou .gcd version (within nuvi)
3). Put gupdate.gcd (4.80) in sd card\garmin
4). Turn on nuvi ., it should be updated with new firmware

Most likely related to the freezing some 855 users are experiencing?

It's a direct screen capture using the GPSs screen capture utility. What would I have to gain by falsifying a post like this?

Go ahead and do what you need to prove to yourself that I supposedly retouched the pic. You'll discover nothing of the sort.

I take offense to your accusation that I have re-touched the pic. The comment is disturbing, especially after explaining
to you via PM's that I do not have the file(s) to upload. Otherwise I would have by now. I owe much to this community.

There is a very simple solution for this:
With Garmin WebUpdater & your 855 run the "reinstall the same version" update (see attached picture)..........................=> You get all the files I mentioned in PM

I recently updated my 865T Pro with Web-Updater and received version 4.70
(for img > 2 GB)

Is the 4.80 version mentioned for the 865 as well and if so what sn is good for it?
