Copied the gmapbltn.img file to the Garmin directory in the internal memory, then directly to the internal memory, then to the Garmin directory in a clean sd inside the unit, but nothing worked.
Where/how do I find the gmaptool log to post it? (what is it?)

May you post the gmaptool log of this gmapbltn.img ? Where did you copied it ? In internal memory or in sd ? In which directory ?
You have to navigate to get to the good.

When I remember correctly, for these kind of devices u have to use the webupdater to update the basemap.
Drag the file to the symbol of the webupdater, then it will transfer it

Yes your gmapbltn.img looks damaged.
Tom meant:
You must have webupdater program installed, send the shortcut to your desktop,attach your unit to your PC ,drag and drop the file in webupdater icon
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Done. It updated the software, but not the basemap.

The GPSMAP 620 is preloaded with a worldwide satellite basemap for 'view-from-space' imagery of shorelines and other surface features . We dont have it posted on forum actually-
