I managed to downgrade the firmware (1490T) to 3.00 but i'm stuck at "Updating Traffic Receiver Software"
1. My firmware version before downgrade was 4.90
2. I've tried downgrade to 4.40 (no "Updating Traffic Receiver Software" problem) then down to 3.0 still stuck at "Updating Traffic Receiver Software"
Any suggestions to solve this problem

Note: I've just seen K.Apiwatc suggestions i'll try and see what happen

I've followed K.Apiwatc suggestion as follows
1. upgrade to 4.90 thru web update
2. reboot
3. use web updater to install "Database for FM Traffic Providers"
4. reboot
5. downgrade to 3.00
6. during startup "no cell phone signal" came up then stuck at "Updating Traffic Receiver Software"
anything else i can try

there are some files error in your Nuvi the next suggestion is hard to do so you can try but it up to you.
In my experience I backup all files in Nuvi drive(fw 4.90us) then format it and let the Nuvi to restart it will create folder .System,garmin and gpx.
don't worry it not brick you Nuvi, conect Nuvi to PC and update firmware by webupdater to fw.4.90us again and follow the instruction in program
install everything in addtional update, disconect it the Nuvi will reboot and create a folder increase in garmin drive.
Copy your backup files to new Nuvi drive and don't replace the files that Nuvi create by itself let it reboot and look up in inventory screen
Boot BLK,X-Loader,System is 4.90 I think it can solve your problem if you don't want to format your drive you can try rename .System folder
and do as above.
Then doing follow the quick guide to convert to Nuvi 1490 3.00TH

Thanks for your suggestions, i thought so that i need to format the unit ha ha. I've a few points to confirm before i proceed
Option 1
Since i've a full clean original backup of os version 4.4 from another 4190T
1. Could i downgrade my unit to 4.4 and replace "all" files from the original backup ?
2. I read from some where that there are file(s) that keeps things like HW version/id or someting like that that shouldn't be replace, if this is true what's the file(s) name ? (so that during step 1 i could obmit replacing it)
3. Once done continue with convert to 1490 3.00 TH

Option 2
Format the unit (I think i don't have a clean copy of 4.90 us backup)
1. Backup the current software on the unit (with corrupted files)
2. Format the unit (Fat 32), Reboot, webupdate+install all additional update, Reboot
3. This is the part that i'm not sure if i copy files (without replacing files exist on the unit) from step1. would the files with problem be transfer over to the unit ? (or those problem files already be replaced during the format & updating process)

Another question which may not be related, i've read some where that it's possible to simulate upgrading/downgrading using usb flash drive, i can't recall what folder/files that needs to be present on the flash drive before doing the simulation also could this simulation be done using the webupdater ?

Use current version of RGN_Tool if you want to get HWID to the same as boot hwid.

The new problem after flash the Nuvi to fw 3.00th during navigate sometime and someplace it shutdown when reach junction view but can on it again

I had flashed Nuvi 1490T 3 unit but one of it have the problem, during flashing this unit to 1490 3.00TH when it reboot during startup "no cell phone signal" came up then stuck at "Updating Traffic Receiver Software" so I rollback to 3.00US, format it and update to 4.90 US by webupdater then flash it to 3.00TH everying is OK
when navigate sometime it shutdown.

Finally i managed to get my 1490T working with 3.00th map+jcv, i decide to choose option 1. to restore to 4.40 compare the files with original backup, remove & replace files that are different except for "GarminDevice.xml" then downgrade to 3.00 according to the guide, so far so good and next does the FM Traffic works here in thailand ?

I'm having problem with the JCV. the 'Pirating Version' screen keeps popping up whenever i reached a junction on the expressway. i'm using a 1250 sg/my version
