Thread: Just bought a Garmin nuvi 3790T and have alot of questions

Normally 3790TW or CN can use Sg/My map and POIs without problem except JCV.
Try to do hard reset or reinstall the map.

I can see POI icons on the map fine. But under the POI categories where I can look for individual POIs for example "Entertainment" it shows blank in the list.

Umm..
Did you try to set location near the area you want to search for?
You should see the list of POIs.

Did you use several Sg/My maps version in the same time?

If your laocation still in Taiwan , you can not see the list of POIs in Singapore due to the distance are so far.

Oh ok, I think I managed to solve the POI problem. Thank you for your advices.

I have another question. I was given this GTM 35 cable for traffic updates in Taiwan, will it work when I go to Singapore? Or do I have to buy an alternate cable there?

I heard that., FMTraffic in Singapore is available for Sg/My firmware only.

Oh shucks, So is it recommended for me to convert to SG/MY firmware or stick with my current firmware?

All of 3790T can't use TMC in Thailand now.
Converting to Sg/My may let you use Singapore TMC.
You may need more info to do that(You need to know about risk ).

Besides converting there is no way I can make it work?

I've seen threads where ppl asked to convert US to SG firmware, am I applicable or Taiwan's firmware is different?
