None map is perfect, the error can be about 10 to 50 meters, on line maps are similar but it depends on zones-

Accuracy in Garmin devices depends on many factors
It depends on the geographical zone(the map) accuracy of gps compass , the number of satellites your gps fixes, or the obstacles around (eg a forest) etc
in coordinates (eg :38°53'23"N , 77°00'27"W (38 degrees, 53 minutes, and 23 seconds north of the equator and 77 degrees, no minutes and 27 seconds west of the meridian passing through Greenwich) one second is about 30mt difference, so it's very hard to have a perfect positioning
Car navigation hides small errors because it always draws cursor on the road. More problems for geocachers perhaps
