Tested with two well-know landmarks using Google Map coordinates:
Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai (東方明珠塔 ) (Google: 31.239886,121.499674)
Tian'AnMen, Beijing (天安門)(Google: 39.90871,116.397505)
Both display correctly without offset on my 1370 (TW).
you have to rename it to gmapprom.img

thanks very much.....JVC?
Put this file [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (available for download from my dropbox) into the /garmin folder of your GPS and it will behave as if it is from Taiwan/China when reading the map. That is, it will correct outset if there is! With this in my Singapore and US version GPSes, I got accurate locations when I was in China in Jun 09 and then again two weeks ago (Aug 10)! But some words of caution, if you plan to go to the Shanghai World Expo, you might want to think twice... I queued 5 hours under 39degC to get into the Japan pavillion, some queued 8 hours to visit the one by Saudi Arabia, and how ever hard I tried for two days, I didn't managed to get into the Chinese pavillion....
