use a world basemap instead of Canada and Usa one
if you read the whole thread you can see that adress search is not available in that map

but in the SETTINg>MAP> US & CANADA ,its the only map that is seen in the selection. Is there something i miss out on? or was it a case of there is no world map in the nuvi 1250?

you can use a world map eg
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
installing it owerwriting your basemap

you can have just OSM maps for those countries till now
not detailed and not so much routable , gouvernements dont allow to create detailed maps

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 541s and I have a Bluechart G2 sd card can I make a copy of this for my other GPSMAP unit, any help would be appricated , Thanks
PS , I have average pc skills

yes if it's an unlocked img , put it in a garmin folder in an sd card
if locked run on it this before copying

the file must have gmapsupp.img name
one bluechart per sd is supported
