1 Mapsource will overwrite the gmapsupp.img or the gmapprom.img , depends on devices-
the basemap will remain like it is
2 you can overwrite it by yourself transferring manually the gmapsupp.img but you wont be able to select maps in mapsource and send to your device just regions you need, you'll have the whole Brazil img in your device.

Greetings,

I'm a little stuck here:
I've downloaded Garmin City Navigator Brazil NT 2010 and with my Unit ID and Map ID generated the Key.
Now i have gmapsupp.img and copied it to where my basemap.img is placed along with the gmapsupp.unl i've created.
I also have the MapSource 6.16 installed and when i open it i can only see my previously installed maps (tracksource project)
How do i make my new maps appear so i can later send them to my gps??

1. What exactly did you download ??? (which file) - there is more than one file in firs post
2. gmapsupp.img is not for MapSource - it is for navigation device
3. In MapSource you don't unlock with gmapsupp.unl but with entering key in MapSource program
4. gmapsupp.img in first post is unlocked, so you don't need gmasupp.unl file for it

Could you, please, explain what are you doing?

A very accurate version. I hope the 2010.20 version has the new strech of the São Paulo ringroad mapped.

Sao paulo ringroad just in TRC and autoguia... CNBR not yet.

CNBR 2011 maps supports the Lane Assist feature of my nuvi 1450?

Fantastic
CNBR 2011 is much better than TRC 10.06

In Osasco TRC 10.06 does not have a lot of streets (streets that exists about twenty years)
Anyway, TRC is great project too and in many cities people are greatufull with its maps
