I will try installing that , I have a question I put the maps litterally almost everywhere starting from the main root folder of the garmin, then in /artful/garmin then in /rungmxt and then in /rungmxt/settings where do i put it, its unlocked so its just gmapprom.img and i also tried gmapsupp.img with the unl file. thank you for the quick response caty
I got everything up and running on the better version, I just need a little more assistance, When I search for an address the garmin keyboard does not show up but the chines small little keyboard does, is there a way to have garmins keyboard come up, also is there a way to transfer all my current garmin favorites on my c330 to the one on the navi. I would really appreciate it thank you so much.

it will use all the POIs files you have in POI folder
poi names can be changed
for favorites transfer look here
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
to unlock an unlocked IMG
rename the map gmapsupp.img and unlock with jetmouse keygen creating the unl file with notepad
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
on jetmouse keygen v1.5 put either the 10 digit gps unit id number (will be unlocked only in your gps)or the sd serial # (it will be unlocked in any gps you put the sd card
under-select map product --on the bottom ---custom map set---add the maps FID# also called mapid #
click generate a few times on the bottom-all those numbers will unlock the map--copy that 25 digit number into the gmapsupp.unl file --- don't add a enter --just 25 digits on the first line ----
on a sd card create a garmin directory--in that directory copy your gmapsupp.unl file (unlock file) and the gmapsupp.img (g2 map)
When you save the .UNL file in Notepad, be sure you set the "Save as type" to "All Files", not "Text Documents".
to unlock a mapsource map
From the menu: Utilities/Manage map products->unlock regions->add->then enter id from Jet Mouse KG in first field and name of the map in second field.

I have GarminXT running perfectly on my nokia E71, I also have Garmin Mobile PC installed on my laptop.
I want know is there any way if I planned a route on my laptop how I can sync or copy it on my moblie device?
If it is possible pls do let me know the process.
1. Attach your phone with the USB
2. Open Mapsource
3. Select the "route tool" (icon of three squares connected with lines)
4. Create a short route by right-click on a location and choose "Begin route"
5. Then choose another location by right-click and choose "Add to route"
6. Highlight the route in the panel on the left side of map
7. Go to the Transfer menu and choose Send to device
8. Unless you've selected any maps, tracks or waypoints the only option should be "Routes"
9. Click send and you're done.
This is a worthless way of creating routes in devices
Any settings in the mapsource software (average speeds, road preference etc) will be discarded upon transfer to the device.
You do need to have your routable map installed to do routing. The basemap does not support it.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

@iffis76, you may also transfer your routes and favorites between garmin pc and xt via a "current.gpx" file (without mapsource). on PC, this file is in the " #:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USERNAME>\Application Data\Garmin\GarminMobilePC\gpx\" folder. it's renewed automatically upon closing the garminpc (if routes, points etc. were added/changed). to transfer pc routes to phone you copy pc's "current.gpx" to "#:\garmin\gpx\". then open garminxt - <tools> <manage my data> <manage (left soft key)> <import gpx>. that's it! to transfer from phone, you have to <export gpx> (same menu) first, i.e. update "current.gpx" manually.
