Thank you very much for the maps, I live in Tijuana Mexico and this map is very good for this country, I just bought a gps on walmart.com and I'm waiting for arrive, i comment how is working when have it, an apology for my poor writing English but I speak only Spanish and uses a translator. thank you very much.

Hi , i just downloaded the 4 part of mapsource version of North America 2010.30 and after unrar ing the file became .exe like instructed. But afterwards when i tried to rename it as .rar instead of .exe winrar couldnt unrar it. But then i found out that by leaving it as it is (.exe) and trying to UNRAR it in that condition winrar WAS ABLE to unrar it and then using the MSI file as instructed i was able to install it and then created the unlock code and map works fine in mapsource. When i travel to NA i m sure it will be useful. Thanks a lot!!!:000a4:

Just wanted to express my thanks for this posting. Have been hunting all over for the 2010.30 map to update my 265wt.

Now if only I had read the instructions closer.. 1) WinRAR, 2 )rename file

I missed step one, just renamed the file and couldn't get it to recognize at first. Then saw someone mention gmaptool and i got an error there, then saw a post about winhex to fix it. Tried that, but got a bugged copy and wiped out my system!

All is back to good now, but yeah seeing the winrar would have saved me a lot of headache :D

Is the best way is to use the unlocked version and place it in the SD Card?

Should the new Lane Assist file go in the SD Card, or in the garmin unit?
Should the existing Lane Assist file be deleted?

How about the Time Zone file? I don't see the original file in my garmin unit.
Should we put this file in the garmin unit?

Backup on your pc old files before making any change.
The gmapsupp.img must be placed in a folder named Garmin in mmc
The other files(Lane Assist file,3d building and time zones) should be placed in the Garmin folder, which is in the unit (not on the memory card!). But do not forget, that they works only with the Garmin Nuvi 7x5 series and the Garmin zūmo 660 GPS navigators

Actually lane assist works if the file is on the SD card. Just has to be in the Garmin/JCV folder for the lane assist (.jcv) and the 3d building files can be in the Garmin folder. I confirmed this on my Nuvi 1390T device and it read the maps/lane assist directly from the SD. My model doesn't support 3d buildings but you can tell it's working/reading as the areas have boxes where there is 3d building support. Hope this helps!
