Thread: City Navigator® North America NT 2010.30 -IMG Locked&unlock+ Mex&Can IMGs +mapsource version

please forgive me for my ignorance. I have searched and read the How-To's.

I have a nuvi 255w and want to update the map to the .30 version.

Can I simply use MapUpload to do this? I have read the FAQs and it says to copy the .30 .img into the Garmin folder, but everytime I do this, it says it cannot copy as the device does not have enough memory.

I have renamed appropriately as well and tried to use SD card but it doesn't do anything, even after restarting the 255w.

Your device does not support 3D, so your wasting your time

they works only with the Garmin Nuvi 7x5 series and the Garmin zūmo 660 GPS navigators

when .30 is read fast it looks like 3d----

on the garmin directory of your gps probally is a gmapprom.img file about 900 mb

move it to the compuiter to make room---or copy and delete it--

then copy the unlocked file after you name it gmapprom.img to the garmin directory of your gps--

mapupload or any copy will work---

the sd probally worked except you needed to deselect the old map first--as you can't display two maps at the same time---that cover the same area--
