right ,think i`m gettin somewhere now,got the card id,and the gps is actually showing my location, but dont think my maps are unlocked or even if i got maps, should i have a previous version of garmin installed to get the maps , coz i only got version 5.00.10 installed from a link on ere.

The "About" section is somewhere in the settings, just dig around and you will find it

Maps posted in .IMG are nearly always unlocked, you just need your "GMAPSUPP.UNL" file for them with the 25 character code for the map. To get maps, look on page 1 or search the forum. Easiest way to obtain maps is to d/l mapsource, cr**** it then copy over the maps you want - Garmin Europe 2009 is 3.11 gig i thinks.

yeeeeha !!! its working, dont ask me how , but all of a sudden when i opened garmin it asked for code for maps, generated one and bang its workin, cant believe it, so pleased, thx for everything mnia

So if everything is installed and unlocked properly what should you see in settings~~~> about.... on the phone as all i see is unlock ESN: 78118912 under that is visit www blah blah

And just to check i have gmapbmap.img 10.248kb gmapsupp.img 1,701,824kb gmapsupp.unl SW.UNL ...and this is all you need

UK 2008 or 9009 has them in, as well as Garmin Europe 2008/2009.
The post codes themselves are within the map .IMG for garmin.

Best way is just to hide to them. I think deleting them actually removes the files, not only from the gallaery so it will be better. I think there are the spalsh .mbms and unicode 936 and 950 that need hiding. Also, hide everything in the "help" folder. Fastest way is to connect in data transfer mode and do it
