I think the map version stays the same for some time but every few weeks it only update the parts that changed
Map version number only changes after a real big update .
I use this version in Samsung S20, no problem at all.
Yesterday I installed it in a Samsung S24. Installation sucessfull, maps downloaded, my places syncrozised from my tom tom account.
However when I try "search" option, the application crashes.
I checked in playstore and the latest version (3.6.244 - nov 2023) says it fixes Samsung devices misbehaving.
Does anyone face the same issue? Is there a possibility to have a "fixed" version?
TIA

The maps are only updated every so often, the Software has not been updated at the moment. It works well for me on Samsung A70, Samsung A53, etc.

Never thought of this, I was searching in the forum for samsung specific issue and did not find anything...seems to work fine!
THANK YOU
Hello all,
It's been a long time since I posted here (fun times). I am an old TomTom GPS Navigation Traffic1.18.01.B 2169 user (on an old Android v.8 Head unit). It worked fine for me since I don't really need to always download the newest maps. But I sold the car with the head unit. Now I have a newer car, and I installed a newer Android Head Unit (Android v.13). It does not have any version of any TT. I think it came pre-install with HERE (which I don't care for)
I see the old version no longer works, according to all the posts.
So I will install the one on this thread - nds-3.4.21-latam.b.4294 (the original version, not the Santa Claus version). I read all 12 pages of this thread - so that I don't have to hear "read" when I ask the question.
The only question I have: I did not see any installation instruction (not on this thread, or inside of the .rar file) - if I missed it please let me know.
Anyways...., do I just install this apk clean, and then download maps? Or do I first need to install some older version, then install this NDS version over it (remember - I do not have any TT versions install on this new Android head unit). If I need to install an old version first - which one? I am in the US.
If this is a stupid question - well I apologize. Either way, a little help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance.

Well, obviously you were too lazy to scroll through the thread Or any of the previous ones
Although we have been writing about NDS edition for several years
Just install and grant all permissions. Everything is downloaded online from the software
I can always count on the smart remarks. Thank you.
And yes - the clean installation worked on my head unit. Although I did have to "massage" it a little, in order to get the complete installation to cooperate.
This is for the benefit of future members looking for info. Keep in mind I did not have any prior TT installed on the head unit (it was stock).
1- Download the file from the link (it is a .rar file so you will also need to extract it once you download it)
2- Copy the content into a USB or SD card (depending on your head unit)
3- Insert the USB or SD card into your head unit
4- Navigate to your head unit's File Explorer app (or file management app)
5- Locate the content/file in the USB or SD card (the installation file is an .apk file)
6- Click it and begin the installation process
7- Let it finish and then run the app so that it opens.
8- Click through all the startup prompts, until you get to the menu screens where it asks you to download a map.
9- At that point, I closed the app and then rebooted my head unit (an actual reboot, not just a power off/on)
10- Start the app again, and proceed to download your maps. I am in the US so I needed to download one state map at a time, because the US maps tend to be large downloads (I notices that the app sometimes stalls and closed if you try to download multiple maps at the same time - probably due to the size of the maps)
11- Let the app finish "updating and refreshing the maps"
12- Then go to the app's settings and configure the options to your liking
13 - Enjoy (and say thanks to the gpspower folks).
NOTE: if the app closed while downloading a map - don't worry. Just open the app again, go back to the map download you were had started, and start the download again. It will continue pretty much from the point where it closed.
Thanks again,
ggee

Hi,
I have been using TomTom Android on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro for several years and it has always worked perfectly until last week I had to reset my phone and reinstall TomTom.
I have already tried TomTom 3.4.21, 3.2.12 latem4140 but the speed signs are just white and do not contain any speed.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this?
P.S: I first installed TomTom from the Play Store, deleted it and then installed the other version, but to no avail.

Here is posted the original version, without modifications. So, the same from playstore
Is the official system on your device? It seems to me a problem with the driver, or with the fonts.
If you use some non-standard fonts as system fonts, situations like this can occur. Also if you use custom or ported ROM
