Hi,
For many many years I'm simply using Google maps + iGO with online traffic updates.
Recently I experienced bad things with Google "corpo", so I want to switch to offline solution more permanent, but in line I don't really like to go backwards with my life. Online traffic updates, eco routes, diesel routes that's all positive.
Which is the best option for Android for offline maps today but with online traffic updates?
is it still iGO after doing tweaks the best one as for 2024?

okay, if you're saying that then it must be true.
I'll make tests then for my needs.
Thanks
Hiya I am new here so please dont bite my head off for asking a silly question, which is. You have a section on this forum for " Here Maps" but alas when i look at that section it states its for "HERE Wego" maps. Reason i am asking is i have purchased a Chineese android ESSGOO unit and would like to put offline maps on it. Any suggestions and no not ditch the unit, it really is good. lol
Android is an operating system, and you can install any software designed for it. Maps will mean nothing if there is nothing to "read" them
Those Android navigation software that uses Here based maps are
- Here WeGo (proprietary)
- Copilot
- iGO Nextgen and Luna (only for cars)
- Sygic (truck)
Each of them has its own format of maps. They are not interchangeable.
But each of them gets the original (raw) information from HERE publisher and then adapts it.
TomTom have almost perfect software, but for the truck purpose it has to be paid, because the add-ons are only downloaded online
So take it easy, take your time searching through the appropriate sections
Cheers Boki you are right "Each of them has its own format of maps. They are not interchangeable" thats why i said the section here on this forum is MARKED as HERE, but when you dig down into the forum Kap55 states "sorry Sir this thread is for HERE WeGo ,not for HERE maps .. DOH! So again I ask does anyone on the forum know of a good OFFLINE maps that can be loaded onto an ANDROID Device? Maybe you know Bori? I dont mind searching the forum but hey at least someone could get the headers sorted eh! lol P.s. Just used FAQ Search and typed in HERE maps result came back "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms" DOH lol

Hah, let's clarify something
Maps. The maps on the device are in electronic form. They are not on paper like they used to be
Whatever you decide, whatever you download you 'll need software that will read that data and reproduce it on your screen
If you like to se a visual representation, such as paper, it is also available to download - as images or some other format for one of the dedicated programs. But not Here.
If you really want just Here maps, for navigation or whatever, then you download their software (HereWeGo), and it will download offline maps to your device.
Their proprietary maps are not available anywhere to download them separately
ok Boki bit of a round about way to answer my question, but let me get this right I download HERE WE GO from the Play store and then download the latest maps from the app installed on the head unit.?
