Android iGo Nextgen & TTS - USER MANUAL for installation

    Hello,

After a lot of time on the forum, research and many try with TTS Voices and iGo Nextgen, I finally made it work.
I'll described how I proceed, even if I guess there are other ways to do it.

    How I proceed ?

What you need to make TTS works :
    - The App VocalizerEx2.
    - Download TTS files for your language.
    - Create a folder named "VolcaizerEx2" at root of Internal Memory.
    - Copy iGo_Israel at root of Internal Memory (I didn't tried with Barasoft, Gift, World...).
    - Copy downloaded language files at the right place.
    - Set language with TTS App and iGo.

for information, I'm on Android 7.0, Rooted with Magisk and with Xposed.
I put all on External Memory but It will work on internal memory of course.

    Spoiler: Tutorial
    The app VocalizerEx2
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Download TTS files for your language
There are two files to download.
One will be for VocalizerEx2, the other one for iGo_Israel\content\voice

    VocalizerEx2 :
    - On your Internal Memory, create a folder named "VocalizerEx2"
    - Go to this website [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (an other link to download files [Only registered and activated users can see links. ])
Choose "Vocalizer Expressive Version 2" as Synthesizer
    Choose your language
Then download one of the Premium High file. (This file is a .msi so you'll need a Computer with windows to extract needed files)

You will have to install this file and once it is done, go to C:\ProgramData\Freedom Scientific\VocalizerExpressive\2.2\ and copy the folder "languages" to \VocalizerEx2 you created earlier.

    iGo_Israel
    - You can find this file for your language here ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) at the end of the post.
    - Copy thie file .zip to iGo_Israel\content\voice

You should have something like that :

    \iGo_Israel
    \content
    \voice
    \French_universal_unisex_andTTS-Boki_Srb_v.1

    \VocalizerEx2
    \languages
    \common
    \clm.dat
    \lid.dat
    \synth_med_fxd_bet3f22.dat
    \sysdct.dat
    \frf
    \speech
    \components
    \frf_audrey_premium-high_1-0-2.dat
    \ve
    \ve_pipeline_frf_audrey_22_premium-high_1-0-2.hdr

Now that all files are correctly copied, you'll have to set your Apps so they can use TTS Voice.

For VocalizerEx2, go to your settings > language > Text-to-Speech (It will depend of your Android version) and choose VocalizerEx2 as default TTS App, then click on the icon next to it o enter VocalizerEx2 settings.
The Voice data folder should be the right one, you just have to select your language and exit.

Then launch iGo_israel, go to settings and Regional.
Select your TTS language and all is done !!!

Note : If you have some strange pronunciation, delete files in iGo_Israel\content\phoneme\

    Other ways/files I tried with/without success.

    Without success
    French TTS Pro v.9.130 :
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Pass: gpspower.net

The link is dead for French voice so I don't know if it can works with others.

    French-Audrey(female) : Android-VocalizerExTTSPro-French-Audrey(female).rar
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
TTS in Android is working but I can't see it in iGo settings

    With success
    French-Thomas(male) : Android-VocalizerExTTSPro-French-Thomas(male).rar
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
TTS is working in both Android and iGo

I hope it will help some people

Voice configuration is depended on what voice engine (VocalizerTTS, VocalizerEx, VocalizerEx2, ve1, ve2, etc...) AND the proggy you're using. You can't take a voice config made for iGO and expected to work with all other proggy such as NextGen. Even different versions of NextGen proggy changes, and a voice config that works on one version of NextGen isn't guarantee to work on another.
Do not PM me with questions. That's what a forum is for.

    help

    Thanks Hardcoreita for your tuto

    here is my experience with:

    -Android JB: 4.2.2
    -iGO_World SDMod
    -VocalizerExpressive-2.2.1.121-frf Thomas-PremiumHigh-ENU.MSI
    -French_universal_unisex_andTTS-Boki-Srb_v1.zip
Installation according to the procedure described except that for the file VocalizerExpressive.enu.msi I did not install it on my PC but extracted with 7-Zip (after failure renaming to rar and extraction with winrar) and renaming the -dat and -hdr files to .dat and .hdr

    Total Failure Result

Is there a charitable soul to help me?

    Regards

    Hello... friend LouBouha

I think the problem is in renaming files... compare your files-names from #1 post...

    that's is the extracted files:

    clm_dat
    frf_thomas_premium_high_dat
    frf_thomas_premium_high_hdr
    lid_dat
    synth_med_fxd_bet3f22_dat
    sysdct_dat

    rename as:

    clm.dat
    lid.dat
    synth_med_fxd_bet3f22.dat
    sysdct.dat

about the two last files: open with notepad++ (*.hdr) file and you see

<datapackagename>frf/thomas/premium-high/1-0-2</datapackagename> so rename the files like:

    frf_thomas_premium_high_1-0-2.dat
    ve_pipeline_frf_thomas_22_premium_high_1-0-2.hdr

set your device language in French, then go to vocalizerEx t2 to set it ....

Dear Friend Modemakias Πάντα διαθέσιμο για να βοηθήσει τους αρχάριους Ευχαριστώ (Google traduction)

I applied what you proposed to me by renaming the two files

    frf_thomas_premium_high_1-0-2.dat
    frf_thomas_premium_high_1-0-2.hdr

I also tried with as suggested by Hardcoreita

    frf_thomas_premium_high_1-0-2.dat
    ve_pipeline_frf_thomas_22_premium_high_1-0-2.hdr

I noticed that when I go into System Parameter / Language and input / output voice synthesis / VocalizerEx2 TTS: listen to a sample I do not have voice

At each change I erase the data I force the stop I uninstall VocalizerEX2 and I restart and I reinstall

    No results

    How did I miss this.

I have a gps unit running KitKat 4.4.2 and using the July 11 Next gen with Arimi's default skin.

Had been struggling and confused getting the tts voice to work. I am now happily arguing with Serena again.

Thankyou. For me, these instructions have worked like a charm.

    My own method:
How to make Vocalizerex2 pack? Good question.

    Go to:
    Spoiler: link
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links

Select Synthesizer: Vocalizer Expressive Version 2 Then select your language. Press "Download Premium Hight" button and download Install msi file.
Install to PC! Search on the PC this folder: Freedom Scientific /Win7 in "ProgramData" folder/
Make new folder somewhere in PC and copy complete Freedom Scientific folder. Open Freedom Scientific folder then VocalizerExpressive folder and 2.2 folder.
And here rename languages folder to VocalizerEx2 !
    Open VocalizerEx2 and common folder. common folder including 4 files: clm.dat , lid.dat , synth_med_fxd_bet3f22.dat and sysdct.dat.
ALL files move to "your lang"/speech/components folder! And now delete empty common folder.
Uninstall Vocalizer Expressive 2.2 from PC!
    Ready the assembly.

Copy VocalizerEx2 folder from PC to android device root folder and vocalizer_e2.tts_1.0.2.3t2.apk.
Install to android device and set.

If not work follow my compilation. After install restart the device.

    Best regards.

    Spoiler: vocalizer_e2.tts
