Yes it's the same CID for East and West. I have made a WE sd card with my Samsung Evo+ micro SD 32GB. But at the moment I don't have a RNS315. That's why I'm trying to unlock this SD card. Because I don't want to buy everytime a new sd card. So at this moment we can unlock it by self-made hardware or Nokia E or N Series phones? Can confirm sonebody this procedure?

I can confirm that my old Nokia 6220 classic can format my locked Samsung Evo+ 32GB. It asked for a password but it formatted the sd card. The CID was not changed so you have to copy East or West on sd card and lock this card again. After this go to your car. But unfortunally I don't have a RNS315 around....

Good news! But did you try to change CID (just for test) after the format? Before the new use I think it's also worth to re-create SD partition with diskpart:

No I didn't change the CID because it was the same as before. I just copied the west map back (Windows reconized this sd card) and booted ubuntu to verify the CID and finally locked again.

    Hi guys. A newbie here.
I downloaded east Europe maps to my PC. There is howto txt included which says:

    ###
    Steps:
Extract the content and copy on the SD, top folder is navpsf_update
Look under /dev to see which SD is yours, in my case it is mmcblk0

Change the CID with the attached tool
    sudo ./mmc prog_cid /dev/mmcblk0 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400
remove the card and reinsert it

Now lock the card by password, it's not possible to unlock it with normal MMC
driver, you need a patched version of kernel to be able to unlock it. Password
    you know from command below.
    sudo ./mmc lock_sd /dev/mmcblk0 C99A20843ED7D90B6801E49F2BC80277
    ###

I ordered samsung EVO+ 32 GB sd card.
Is there anything else I'm missing?

Do I need "CID.rar for Linux 32bit and 64bit -->> OPEL with change_cid(64)-change_CID_32 and VW with mmc32-mmc64" file from ORAK's post above? (link is not working)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank a lot for a super quick response ORAK! Appreciate it very much.
Now I have to wait for my EVO SD card to arrive. I will report my results after I try this.
    Thanks again!
