    Hi All,
Newbie to the site. Was looking for an update to the old GPS DVD in a recently bought CX-9. I've since followed the instructions given and burnt the data to the disk. Silly question, but how do I know if it has worked properly? Would the head unit constantly display the "Insert a disk" if it cannot read it? Also is there any way to know what version map you are using by viewing that info on the head unit?

If it's displaying that message then yes, it can't see the disc. If the map shows on the screen, then it can see it. Try turning the ignition off and back on or eject and reinsert the disc until it's recognised if you get a message 'insert map disc' or 'disc is not a map disc' or similar. If all else fails, burn the disc again. btw, V20 is now available, see the post above yours.
PS .. Welcome to GPSPower. Bit bl**dy humid in BrisVegas presently isn't it?

Turning the ignition off and back on again did the trick. V20 map dvd is being read by the headunit Many thanks for providing this data.

Thanks Neil, it sure is, sometimes a shower lasts a bit longer after you've had a shower!!!!

Haha! Yes, bit cooler this morning though.

Glad you're sorted. Burnt discs are actually quite different to the official 'pressed' discs. The slowest burn speed on the best quality media gives optimum results but doesn't guarantee there won't be a few hiccups.

I actually meant to close this thread when i made Post #71 with links to the C1 and C2 V20 threads so i'll do that now. If you need any more help, just post over in the C2 V20 thread. Cheers.
