Hear, hear! I, for two, am also appreciative. I really don't mind if it's v18 or a tricked up v17, it's still waay waaay better than the v14 C2 i was stumbling about with before. Best the rest of you stop sticking into the Sher-master, i'm with Da We on this one. Anyway, i'ts actually my job to furr-up Shermann and i'm pretty bloody good at it too.

    @icemanmelb
According to the Whereis site, all the Mazda 3 models use an sd card and the latest is v17 and it's out of stock:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
The following quote is from the base of the above page:

Version 17 for Mazda 3 and CX-7 (SD Cards) is not available anymore as Version 18 will be released shortly. Please send and e-mail to customer care ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) should you wish to register your interest or pre-order this update.

You will find updates regaring the release date of Version 18 for Mazda 3 and CX-7 (SD Cards) on this website, so please check back regularly.
And yes, that's their typo highlighted in red, not one of mine for a change!

The 3's big brother, the 6, uses a dvd though. Go figure, probably a different satnav system....

Thought I'd post how I successfully upgraded the maps in a MY10 Liberty GT.

    Download V17 C2 from...

    or

    Toyota/Lexus Sat Nav Whereis V17 for Australia-NZ, 2011 update

The ISO comes in 9 parts. Download all 9 parts (files) to a folder on your computer.

Once all 9 files are downloaded double click the first file (part 1) to extract it. I use UnRAR. Windows users would need to right click and extract using a windows program. You only need to extract the first file and the extraction software will do the rest -

ie. combine all 9 files together to form the original ISO file (which is a DVD or disc image file).

    ----------------------------

Once the disc is done you are ready to install.

Now the hard part - accessing the DVD drive in the car. Look in the satnav manual (I think it was page31) to see where the DVD is located. On the audio system it is hidden behind the panel with McIntosh written on it. I found it quite difficult to get the panel off on my car and the instructions in the satnav manual for removing the panel didn't help. I ended up using an atm card and pushed it into the gap along the bottom of the panel. Then working left and right along that panel I kept gently prising the panel upwards until finally it popped out about 1 cm and I could grab it with my fingers.

Now start your car's engine and leave it running throughout this process. Turn the audio off by pressing the volume dial in. Once you have the panel off press the list eject button on the right hand side (not the main eject button on the system but one that was behind the panel). The old satnav disc will spit out - mine was V15. Now insert the new disc you have just created. When I did this on my car the screen initially said something about not recognising the disc or insert a DVD disc or something. Then after a few seconds that disappeared and it started loading the disc. All in all the process took about 2 minutes to upgrade. Leave the new disc in the drive and place the cover back over the DVD drive.

Yeah, weird. I can't find it either on this C2 in MY10 GT Liberty, and i'm tempted to stick the oem V15 (not V14 as i posted earlier from memory) back in to see if it was on that. More on the "Is this map V17 or V18"thing ..... The Go Between Bridge & Clem Jones Tunnel are on this one and they are part of the changelog from v17 to v18. From Post #1, quoting Sensis:
    QUEENSLAND MAP DATA FEATURES

295,347km of road network including an additional 445km of new roads.

    Major New Roads:

    * Clem Jones Tunnel (Bowen Hills)
    * Hale Street Bridge project - Go between Bridge
Seems like maybe at least the torrent file, which is what I used to get the C2, is V18. The file is named 464110-4290.iso and is 3,223,614KB (3.07GB). I first tried burning it at 4x speed but the Liteon burner spacked with a cyclic redundancy check error. I tried it again with a cheapie external 'Nu' branded burner at 2x. It happily burnt the disc but threw up the same error as before on the verify. Regardless the disc seems to work fine in the car so far.

As posted by Schermann earlier, keep your original oem disc in case you have a battery change or something else resulting in no power to the unit. The oem firmware appears to be written to unprotected memory and fw is not included in this map update, so if you have a complete power loss you'll need to put your oem disc back in to rewrite the fw (Thanks heaps VDO-Dayton/Denso or wotevathehell ya call yaself!). My 6yo Grandson got into my Liberty last month and turned all the interior lights and the headlights on ...... little #%$&^*@!! Result, a deadflat battery with total powerdown overnight. I had to lever off the McIntosh panel again to put the oem disc back in. It really does feel like it's gonna break before it pops off and the Subi manual is no help as stated by Schermann, because the pic shows the (non-McIntosh) basic system which has a notch at the base for a fingernail to lift it up. No notch on the premium panel and you'd need a pretty good fingernail to get it off. Credit card or similar works best as i found by trial and error. It's on page 34 not page 31 of the satnav manual, but i wish i'd seen this before i first put the new map disc in:

EDIT: Note the other method described in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to remove the panel. One might suit you better than the other, but both work the same for me

    Yeah, I have found that!

And yes I am beginning to question C1 credentials!
