    Don't be too concerned about it. There are plenty of OEM discs around. An older oem version of C1 will restore the OS files to volatile memory. Your local local Toyota dealer would probably have at least half a dozen old ones. Might cost you a six pack if you're not a regular .

    OK, I will ask the dealer. Here's a pic of my disc in case anyone knows what the OEM one for a 09 Prado 150 series looks like :-

    That disc has 'Made in Japan' on it. Maybe it is a Toyota OEM disc supplied with the vehicle from Japan?

    I hadn't thought of that, just assumed it was a map disc from the label. Is there anything I can look for in the file structure that would identify this as an OS disc?

    Dunno. Not sure what to look for. Below are screenshots of the contents of firstly V15 C2, which is definitely an OEM disc, and then the one with file names in blue is the V18 C2 from this thread which is almost certainly a map data only disc (maybe it has little 'bug-fix' fw updates or patches on it though). Comparing them is probably not all that helpful in my case.

    sensisv18c2discfiles

    The reason i'm sure this V18 C2 isn't an OEM disc is that I had a total power down due to flat battery in my Liberty shortly after changing to V18. When the car was restarted, the satnav asked for the oem disc to be inserted and when i changed the disc to my V15 it then reloaded the fw.

    But, that is not to say that the V18 C1 uploaded by Terry Dactil isn't an OEM. If he's still monitoring this thread he maybe will post about it. Otherwise, best just ask a dealer what your V16 disc is (and don't show them the burnt V18..lol!).

    @Arty Tron
    All Bitsaremissins use C2.

    Many Thanks Neil,
    I tried C2 it and it worked however, the version text is the same as the one I already had which was v17 ie. 2011 ver.1.
    Does that mean I don't have v18?
    Also I am using the link on the first page of this post - is there another link which is newer and has v18?

    I look forward to your response.

    @Arty Tom
    That seems strange as it is not in keeping with the Whereis convention on map data being from the previous year, i.e. 2011 has 2010 data.
    The post above yours shows the OEM disc supplied with my MY10 (2009 release model) Liberty. It is V15 released mid-2009 by Whereis. You can see that it clearly shows the map data (road network) is updated to the 2008 UBD. The VERSION.TXT reads 'COMMENT=2008 ver.1;'. A V17 2011 disc should show 'COMMENT=2010 ver.1;' to indicate the data is from the previous year. Further, my V18, which correctly shows VERSION.TXT content as 'COMMENT=2011 ver.1;' has the updated data as indicated in the Whereis changelog, i.e. for Qld:
    * Clem Jones Tunnel (Bowen Hills)
    * Hale Street Bridge project - Go between Bridge
    * Ipswich Motorway upgrade - Wacol to Darra 1 & 2
    * Cleveland safety improvement works
    Etc., but only the above have been checked by me personally.
    The above and the all other roads/projects shown in the chagelog cannot be present in your V17. The changelog reflects new roads and major works included in V18 which are not included in V17. Check the changes for your locality against the changelog.
