How To Keep your Favorites When Upgrading Map

Ok If you want to keep your favourites when upgrading maps please follow these instructions .

    2h3brdv

    * Take file mapsettings.cfg from your old map folder and place this in your new map folder (This is where the favourites are kept) Now if you get any problems with your device re-booting please follow instructions below to cure

    _______29nj0r2ikh9szy5m

    * Connect your Tomtom to Home and choose "operate my Device" ,
    * Now add a random address or location to your favourites,
    * This will rewrite the file mapsettings.cfg to the right format and you get rid of the re-booting loop without losing your favourites!

I actually came to this thread to say exactly the same as your original post, but guess I'm nearly 12 months too late.
    So thanks for the confirmation.

In the past I have never had a problem swapping the mapsettings.cfg from one map to another, but for the last week I have been playing around with a new Europe map that kept giving me nothing but grief but eventually discovered the problem I was having with my TT not starting was all down to the mapsettings.cfg file.

But because the TT would always started in Home, today I decided to actually do what you suggested in your first post and found it solved the problem.
